Overview of New Features

Client feedback is crucial to making Metrics that Matter® the most useful tool in your Human Capital Practice, and to that end, we are proud to announce some of the key features and capabilities scheduled for release in July 2008.

1. Client-Experience/Interface Enhancements: You will notice throughout Metrics that Matter® a number of usability enhancements that have been developed to improve the client experience. Key enhancements include easy-to-use report actions (print, email, PDF, save), a new “Help” application that opens in a new window allowing for easy toggling between screens, evaluation preview capabilities, and improvements to the student-facing elements of Metrics that Matter®.
2. Dashboards on the Home Screen: KnowledgeAdvisors has made significant enhancements to our Dashboard capabilities in Metrics that Matter® which will allow you to quickly access your most relevant data right as you log into the system. Dashboards are configurable in each user’s account; this allows you to get data relevant to you, right away and in an easy-to-view format.
3. Richer Benchmark Data: Benchmarks have now been enhanced to include course categories, which align with standard ASTD course types. Now it is easier than ever to get external validation of course performance against like courses in the MTM benchmark database.
4. Benchmarks on More Reports: New benchmark data is available on a host of existing MTM reports you use every day, including the Human Capital Scorecard and the Business Results Scorecard. Additional color coding on these reports provide interpretive guidance.
5. More Informative Criteria Available on All Reports: The newly enhanced Report Criteria section of each report will allow you to quickly review the criteria used to create a particular report.
6. Conference Evaluation Tool Enhancements: The new “Copy” and “Summary” features in the Conference Evaluation tool make the setup and management of multi-track, multi-session learning interventions easier than ever.
7. New Report -- Aggregate Training Evaluation Results: In this great new report, you will be able to compare post-event, follow-up, and manager results side-by-side, and further compare them against organizational goals. You now will have a single report in which to compare, side-by-side, all the results for a particular course. This is very useful to help determine overall course effectiveness at a glance.

Client Experience/Interface Enhancements

It is our goal at KnowledgeAdvisors that our clients understand how to get the most out of Metrics that Matter. The Client Experience/Interface enhancements include improved report actions, an improved Help feature, and evaluation preview functionality.

• Report Actions
  Instead of a drop-down menu, now you just click the appropriate button to take action on the report you are viewing.

  

• Improved “Help” Usability
  Now it is easier than ever to take advantage of the Help feature. A new browser window opens to allow easier toggling back and forth so you can better keep your context at your fingertips.

  

• Evaluation Previews
  The Evaluation Preview capability on the Class Summary page allows you to preview the evaluation and ensure the correct evaluation is assigned. Answers entered through the preview function are not stored in reporting, so actual evaluation results are not impacted while you verify your class set up.

  

• Survey Layout Enhancements
  The default formatting and layout for forms created in Active Authoring has been improved to make it easier for respondents to complete the evaluation, survey, or assessment quickly and accurately. More space has been added between questions, and the alternating grey background has been removed.

Dashboard on the Home Screen

We have replaced the static MTM Home/Queued Reports tab with an enhanced Dashboard capability with powerful customization features. You can now arrange the items on this page and modify the data displayed within the Dashboard to fit your usage of MTM, making your time in MTM as efficient as possible. Please note that the old home screen is no longer available, but each of the features you are used to accessing from it are still present on your new home screen.

Each user with an MTM account will be able to create a custom dashboard to suit his or her individual needs. There are two dashboard options available: the Standard Dashboard that applies to all subscription levels (and replaces the MTM Home/Queued Reports page), and a Platinum Dashboard that focuses on key performance indicators. The Platinum Dashboard is available to Platinum subscribers.

The “Tool Shortcuts” widget has been added as a default to the “MTM Home” tab of the MTM dashboard. This widget provides one-click access to report query forms and administrative tools within MTM. By default the most-used links are provided, and you can use the “Add Widget” button to add your favorites and stop wasting time navigating menus! This dashboard is standard for all subscription levels.

These features allow you to customize and navigate through MTM easier than ever before:

• Add a Widget: Control the content you view on your dashboard.
• Edit Widget Properties: Determine what to display and how many items to include on the individual dashboard item. You can also apply filters right from here.
• Quick & Easy Navigation: Get right to the tools you use most often.

The Platinum Dashboard breaks out key performance metrics in tabs to help you organize key data elements and actions you would like to take from your Dashboard. These tabs help you easily access key metrics within the categories of “Impact,” “Operations,” “Courses,” and “Instructors.” A fourth tab serves as the “MTM Home,” and is starting point for key activities around the measurement process.

Data is available in an easy-to-interpret, graphical format. Once dashboard widgets are configured, MTM will automatically refresh their data to save you time. Below are examples of Impact and Operational dashboards (there are more than 40 widgets available in the current catalog to customize your dashboard view).

These features allow you to organize data and navigate through MTM easier than ever before:

• Key Performance Metrics: Dashboard views are organized by key groupings of data.
• Edit Widget Properties: Add new widgets and control the content and number of items displayed.
• Data Drilling: View full reports from the dashboard to drill further into your results.

Benchmark Data Enhancements

Course Type Benchmarks
Enhancements to Metrics that Matter’s benchmarks will now allow you to compare your data against different course categories such as “Sales and Dealer” and “Managerial and Supervisory Skills.” Comparing your data against similar data will help you to understand whether your training is on track and may help provide interpretive guidance for better decision-making.

The following is the complete list of course type benchmarks that are aligned with ASTD course designations:

Benchmarking has been added to all of the “Score Card” reports. Your results will be color-coded red/yellow/green depending on their relation to the benchmark you are using. You will now be able to compare the value and effectiveness of your training against external organizations more quickly.

More Informative Criteria Available on All Reports

Now you can quickly review the criteria used to create a particular report by referencing the newly updated Report Criteria section of the individual report. All reports will now include descriptions of the benchmark used and if the benchmark was customized.

Conference Evaluation Tool Enhancements

Conferences and other multi-session, multi-track programs (such as on-boarding or offsite training) are now easier than ever to schedule and manage through the “Copy” and expanded “Summary” actions in the Conference Evaluation tool.

New Report: Aggregate Training Evaluation Results

We have added the aggregate Training Evaluation Results report to our catalog. This report is found under Tactical Tools > Class Analysis.

This report displays data by question and by form type allowing for easy comparison between Post Event, Follow Up and Manager evaluation results. The report will also compare performance results to category goals. This allows you to get a comprehensive and true sense of the effectiveness of training from a single report.
